DONALD SULTAN
(b. 1951) is one of the most celebrated Contemporary artists. His work
examines the seam of beauty that lies between abstraction and the natural
world. In this new series of mixed-media prints, Sultan combines
sensuously reductive forms, rich color and multiple surface textures,
including the luminous use of silica. Together these elements convey
one of the most powerful and unique voices in Contemporary art.
The works of Donald Sultan are prominently featured internationally in
private and public collections including The Museum of Modern Art, NY,
the Whitney Museum of American Art, NY, The Metropolitan Museum
of Art, NY, the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum, NY, the Museum
of Fine Arts, Boston, the Walker Art Center, Minneapolis, the Ludwig
Museum, Budapest and the Tate Modern, London.
