A Warrior’s Story: Army Specialist, Daniel Foster stopped a suspicious
cargo truck, which had been filled with 500 pounds of explosives. When
the truck exploded, the force threw Daniel to the ground as shrapnel
from the blast shattered his jaw, tore his face and blew out his
teeth. Over the next half-hour, Daniel continued to fight, stopping an
additional suicide bomber and saving countless American lives in
Afghanistan. Daniel was awarded a Purple Heart for being wounded in
combat, the Silver Star for his Valor, and has been home in the U.S.
for more than 2 years. Yet, he remains untreated and scarred by his
emotional and physical wounds.
